Vintage Design
Suzanne Öhlén, a prominent Swedish contemporary designer, worked at Rörstrand for 20 years after completing her art studies at “Konstfack” in Stockholm. During her tenure, she contributed significantly to the ceramics produced by Rörstrand. Her artistry has been exhibited across Europe, showcasing her talent and creativity.
The Rörstrand porcelain factory was founded in 1726 at Rörstrand Castle in Stockholm. The company was led by a German porcelain manufacturer named Johann Wolff. At that time, Chinese décor was Rörstrand’s main inspiration and it was not until the 1740s that the company began to produce its own patterns. Rörstrand was a large-scale industry in the early 1900s that achieved international success.
