1820 English Sterling Silver Best Sow Trophy Cup

A beautiful antique circa 1820 sterling silver goblet engraved as a best sow trophy! There is beautifully hand-engraved text on one side that reads
“Bramber Agricultural Association 1820 For The Best Sow” and on the other side “Elizabeth”

In excellent condition, no dents or damage, just a couple shallow dimples and an old repair to the base visible only when looking closely and small signs of use and age. It has polished up beautifully! The cup is marked with full English hallmarks for sterling silver assayed in London, though the hallmarks are rubbed and the year is very difficult to make out; but when I turn it in the light and look closely it appears to be the date stamp for the year 1780.

Measures approximately 6” tall, weighs 5.4 ozt.
