We are selling this fine little Satsuma covered box by Yabu Meizan. This small covered box or Kogo is in the form of a ritual drum with chrysanthemum decoration on the cover and enamel floral decoration on the side, unusual style for Yabu Meizan. Signed on the base with typical Meizan mark.
Condition: Wear to the gilding overall on the piece. Small vertical hairline on the side as well as heavy staining to the crazed surface. Two flaws in the surface glaze of the satsuma.
