Mid-Century Wall Unit with Glass Tops by Thygesen & Sørensen for Hansen and Guldborg, Denmark, 1960s

The presented wall unit was deigned by rud thygesen & johnny sorensen for hansen & guldborg furniture in the 1960s. It features a minimalist design, brilliant carpentry, and attention to detail, especially visible in the nicely sculpted handles and slightly rounded shelves’ edges.
the set includes one spacious storage cabinet with sliding doors, one compact desk with a drawer and six deep shelves, providing ample space to store and display books and decorations. The storage cabinet features two separate compartments with one inner shelf in each, all in oak. The compact desk with its spacious drawer for documents, accessories or a laptop is an excellent alternative to a traditional desk and ideal for creating a discreet home office space in your living room. The black glass top gives a touch of luxury and elegance, beautifully reflecting the light of the lamp.

this shelving system is entirely modular; all parts can be interchanged and set up as desired, using an easy system with brass hangers inserted into solid wood rails. The shown setup is just an example.

the unit has been fully renovated and upcycled. We put new black glass on the top of the desk and the cabinet, which adds elegance and extra protection to the desk top.
