Vintage Design
An exceptional silk Turkish rug, handwoven in Hereke (about 60 kms south-east from Istanbul) circa 1980 with an all over floral design on a soft blue field and fabulous secondary colours of pink, red green and gold. very finely woven with 10×10 knots per cm woven on a silk foundation.
Size: 1.55m x 1.12m (5ft 1in x 3ft 8in)
This rug is in excellent original condition with minimal wear. The original colour, visible on the back, has faded to a soft blue (see photos). The fringes and selvedges are original and secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
